Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a branch of physiotherapy that involves an internal and external assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor muscles. Those muscles are located between the hip bones and the sacrum, and they serve as a bowl to support the pelvic organs including the bladder, colon and uterus. Treatment includes exercises that can help relieve pain, discomfort, and disruptions to quality of life.

During a pelvic floor physiotherapy session, clients and therapists work together to restore pelvic function.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • I pee when I laugh; it’s just my age!

  • My pelvis is achy, menstruation is painful and I have constipation of the bowels. Why does it feel like my belly is hijacking my day?!

  • For years I’ve been getting stiffer in the hips & my walking is slower. It is getting harder and harder for me to complete my daily tasks!
